I bought a big name connected smart L2 charger. Within a couple months it refused to connect to my wifi and I had to RMA it.
When I got offered a chance to review this charger, I jumped on it. Lets start by saying it worked out of the box every bit as well as a much more expensive brand. I was impressed with the quality of the unit overall and was realy happy that they included a quality cable. I do some electical engineering. Quality cable is expensive and makes all the difference. This cable was definitely rated for the amperages specified.
Theres a lot to like and at this price, it was about $200 less than my original one and every but as quality.
One feature I especially liked even though I charge at home. I love the included RFID card and App disable ability. This is super cool if you leave the cable outdoors as it ensures no power can be applied and no one else can use your charger. This would be really valuable if you rent or are in a place wgere others can see your charger. Basically its useless without the "keys'.
Overall it had more features and was every bit as high-quality as the other unit I paid way more for.

It has all of the integrated protective functions that you should expect from a decent charger including overcurrent, undercurrent, overheating, etc. It is very well made from quality materials and can stand up to any weather condition or climate. Mine is installed in a parking garage so that's not much of an issue for me. The cable is 25 feet long and UL listed.
This is one of the faster EV chargers I've experienced and particularly at this price point. It can deliver up to 50 Amps and 240 V. I hardwired my setup but it also comes with a NEMA 14-50 plug. It'll have no trouble charging whatever J1772 vehicle you want and can also charge Tesla vehicles with the appropriate adapter.
Many EV chargers at low to mid price points look the part, but not this one. It looks very sleek and high quality. I like the variety of charging options which include smartphone app, scheduled charging, direct charging, etc. You can also specify the amount of KWH to charge though I haven't used that functionality. Very impressive EV charger that delivers plenty of features and performance at a reasonable price point. Highly recommended!
The EVCUBNB EV Charger exceeded my expectations with its robust 50 Amp charging capacity, ensuring a swift and convenient charging experience. It works well at 40A but I was really looking forward to charging at 48A (max vehicle capacity). If you want a good price on a HD 40A EVSE, this is the unit for you. I will continue to try to upgrade to 50A, but it I have not had any luck in the last 30+ days.
Installation was a breeze. If you can operate a drill, you can install the bracket in a matter of minutes. Hardwiring it was easy...for my electrician. Just hire someone to do that part. It should only be a few hundred bucks and it's much safer to have an actual electrician work on this kind of thing.
I have this attached to the side of an apartment complex that I own. I was going to use the RFID card, but then I remembered that the parking area is gated. I just left it as plug and charge. There's a security camera pointed right at that spot, so I know exactly who is using it. I took a peek at the security camera footage earlier, and there is pretty much always someone plugged into this. In other words, it is being used by people who don't own it, all the time, and it is holding up just fine. Of course, they do see the security camera pointed at it, so breaking it would be unwise.
The app is easy to use. I only played around with it a bit when it was still plugged into a 14-50 in my garage. I'm not a big app guy, but I wouldn't complain too much if I had to use this one.
Overall build quality is quite high. That's the main reason I selected it for apartment complex use.
To take advantage of the 50Amp charging power, you will need a 60 Amp circuit breaker for the hardwire version. However, for the NEMA 14-50, you are limited to 40 Amp of the charing power because of the NEMA 14-50 power limitation. You can use a 50 Amp circuit breaker on a NEMA 14-50 plug, and 80% of that is 40Amp. I would not recommend anything over 50Amp on a NEMA 14-50 plug. If you want to go higher than 40Amp charger, you will need the hardwire version.
I appreciate the flexible charging options. The “plug and charge” mode is handy for quick starts, but the ability to disable it with a physical card or app is a game-changer for security, especially in public areas. I could see living in an apartment with other people trying to drain your energy from it. This feature should be standard.
The charger's build quality is impressive, with a simple, informative LED display. Installation was straightforward for my existing 220V outlet, but I strongly advise checking your home's electrical capacity before purchase. A 50A load is substantial and may require electrical upgrades, as was the case for me. A standard dryer connection in a garage should be no problem.
Considering its price and features, this charger delivers excellent value.
Installation was straightforward although I did need to get an electrician out to wire up a higher amp outlet to take full advantage of the 50A charging ability.
Built is heavy duty so very well. Installation is best done by an electrician if you want to hard wire. This can plug directly to a 240V outlet too, which is much easier. Has a long 25 feet cable so great reach. Has app with lots of options. Not sure why I will need a card to use a home charger but maybe someone needs this.
For the price this is a great deal for a 50 Amp EV charger.
I. Quality – This appears to be well-made out of good quality materials. I’d put it in the high upper-middle level of the quality scale for EV chargers and guess it should hold up well over time, assuming the electronics survive.
II. Performance – It has huge output potential of 50 amps, compared to most level 2 chargers that have 32 or 40 amps. This higher output can make a large difference on time spent charging over the life of the charger, not to mention if you’re in a hurry. It’s easy to use and comes with a lot of safety features. The 25ft cable is slightly on the longer side, with the average being about 20ft. This only matters if you’re potentially going to be parking far from the main unit.
III. Plug Options – This charger uniquely offers the option to either use the NEMA 14-50 plug or hardwire it directly. If you don’t have a plug and can hardwire it directly to the breaker box, it’ll be the lowest cost and cuts out a potential fail point by removing the outlet from the equation. The NEMA 14-50 is the most common plug type and will give you more access to parts and the use of other outlets away from your home or if you move.
Overall, this is a very competent and capable choice in the EV charger world. It has worked great for my needs, providing fast and convenient juice, while looking very nice on the wall, if I might say so myself. I’ll be sure to update this review, if I ever start to have problems with it.

The price for this charging station is also excellent. The charging station really shines when you hardwire for the most reliable connection.
Definitely recommend getting this installed by a licensed electrician. A 50A charger requires pretty thick wires and it can be pretty difficult to install due to the size of wire gauge required for this high amperage.
Before you buy!!! Be sure your house can support this much amperage load because 50A is a lot. Many older houses only have 100A feed from their electrical company so if you have heavy loads in your house, this may take up 50% of your home's capacity.
You'll also need two spaces in your breaker panel because it is level 2 requiring a double pole breaker.
Highly recommend this charger, but definitely go hard wired and definitely consult a licensed electrician.
Install was very simple, I could tell it was well made and very well thought oiut. My EV loves it and I am getting the full 50 amps.
Overall, this purchase perfectly matches its description and I am extremely satisfied with the product. It definitely deserves a five-star rating and I would purchase again!
First off it was in our price range, It is a 48amp charger, and it has a heavier cable than our old charger.
We have this charger mounted in a charger case and mounted to the outside of our garage for outdoor charging.
This charges charges with no issues; the app was easy to load and is well laid out.
This was a good upgrade over our less expensive, less feature packed charger.
We would buy this charger again.

t didn't turn out that way. First, the box is HEAVY. Second, you open it up, and by golly, you see right away this isn't a toy! This thing has cables an inch or more in diameter, and it has both of the correct plugs on the ends It has 25 feet of cable. It's a 50 Amp charge station. This thing is built like a battleship. It means business. And did I tell you it's HEAVY? It is nothing like what I thought it would be! It has a little booklet of instructions that inform me I'll have to use -my credit card- to charge up? Oh, really? When it's on MY home wiring??? Well, I don't know how this is going to work out, but there's one thing for sure: It's not a toy, not a slimmed down substitute, but a massively powerful charging station.. Boy, am I impressed! Several people have volunteered to check it out for me! Yeah, right... Charge your car? On my dime?
