It works well at 40A but I was really looking forward to charging at 48A (max vehicle capacity). If you want a good price on a HD 40A EVSE, this is the unit for you. I will continue to try to upgrade to 50A, but it I have not had any luck in the last 30+ days.
t didn't turn out that way. First, the box is HEAVY. Second, you open it up, and by golly, you see right away this isn't a toy! This thing has cables an inch or more in diameter, and it has both of the correct plugs on the ends It has 25 feet of cable. It's a 50 Amp charge station. This thing is built like a battleship. It means business. And did I tell you it's HEAVY? It is nothing like what I thought it would be! It has a little booklet of instructions that inform me I'll have to use -my credit card- to charge up? Oh, really? When it's on MY home wiring??? Well, I don't know how this is going to work out, but there's one thing for sure: It's not a toy, not a slimmed down substitute, but a massively powerful charging station.. Boy, am I impressed! Several people have volunteered to check it out for me! Yeah, right... Charge your car? On my dime?
