New Battery Safety Standards
July 1 marked implementation of China’s mandatory no-fire battery standards. CATL confirms its products already meet the new rules having mass-produced no-thermal-propagation batteries since 2020.
NIO Expands
NIO announced expansion into Middle Eastern and Southeast Asian markets, leveraging battery-swapping technology. The Onvo sub-brand saw strong initial demand. NIO delivered over 21,000 vehicles in June.
